With recent changes to auto accident legislation, this seminar will teach you how navigate through insurance paperwork faster and help you with some aspects of handling your patient’s treatment so that you are not burdened with unecessary repeat visits.
Dr. Yin-Hui Siow, a certified specialist in both nuclear medicine and radiology. Since 1999 Dr. Siow has served as the Director of Nuclear Medicine at Southlake Regional Health Center and as the Chief of Diagnostic Imaging from 2004 to 2008. Dr. Siow also practices his medical specialties at York Central Hospital. Dr. Siow gives entertaining and informative presentations related to these specialties, and specific to head trauma, that will allow the general practitioner to the best possible use of these tools.
Dr. Ramesh Zacharias, the current Medical Director of the Chedoke Hospital Chronic Pain Management Program, founded by Dr. Eldon Tunks. Dr. Zacharias is a certified anaesthesiologist and was the founder of Centres for Pain Management. The Chronic Pain Management Unit embraces a whole-person, active approach to the management of chronic pain. Dr. Zacharias’ presentation will offer general practitioners on overview of resources and ideas to help manage the chronic pain patient in daily practice.
Sara Jones, a Kinesiologist and Accident Benefits case manager with Findlay Attorneys for the past 14 years. She has worked with physicians and patients through the many changes to auto insurance benefits from Bill 164 to the present time. She will provide information on how family physicians can best manage patients with insurance claims that can be frustrating and time consuming. The Minor Injury Guidelines and the insurance forms (that are often poorly worded and confusing!) will be discussed.
