A Deductible is the amount of money in which an insured injured party is required to off-set from the pain and suffering award. In Ontario, there is currently a $39,754.31 deductible which applies to an award of pain and suffering damages that is below $132,513.28. This is the current amount for 2021 and it has increased every year due to inflation.
