Minor Injury Guideline (MIG)

Legal Glossary

The Minor Injury Guideline (also known as MIG) is the pre-approved funding for treatment, up to $3500, by an insurance company for injuries that are considered minor in nature.

A minor injury is defined in the Statutory Accident Benefits Schedule (SABS) as a sprain, strain, whiplash associated disorder, contusion, abrasion, laceration or subluxation and any clinically associated sequelae.
