Toyota Prius Recalled in Ontario

Ontario Toyota Prius owners should be aware that Toyota Canada has issued a recall for 15,000 vehicles across Canada. It appears that there is problem related to the steering intermediate extension shaft on some Prius models. Other models are being recalled to replace the electric water pumo for the hybrid system.

Owners of vehicles covered by these recalls will receive an owner notification letter via first class mail starting in December, 2012.  Any authorized Toyota dealership will perform these recalls at no charge to the vehicle owner.

Information is available to customers by contacting the Toyota Customer Interaction Centre at 1-888-869-6828, or you can read Toyota’s press release about the recall here.
